Kalimat (Sentence)

Kalimat dibagai kedalam dua jenis.

1.      Sentence

a)      Def: rangkaian kata yang bermakna dan berpola S + V( S+P), serta diakhiri oleh tanda baca pengakhir (end mark: ! (tanda seru, ? (tanda Tanya, dan . (titk).

b)      WO. S + V + end mark

c)      eg: 

You write a letter in the room
S	V	O	prep	Obj of prep

2.      Clause

a)      Def: Rangkaian kata yang bermakna tetapi tidak diakhiri oleh tanda baca pengakhir(end mark).

b)      WO : S+V

c)      Kinds: 

1	Main Clause (MC)	Kalimat utama
	Independent Clause (IC)
2	Subordinate Clause (SC)	Anak Kalimat
	Dependent Clause (DC)

d)     eg:

You write a letter because you miss Rini

Tanda baca pengakhir(end mark) sebagai berikut:

1.      ( ∙ ) full stop/period

2.      ( ! ) exclamation mark

3.      ( ? ) question mark
